Issue/Introduction

When running targeted collections of OneDrive files and sending them to a case, the results may show some items that fall outside of the Selected date range for the Modified date. This issue occurs when the targeted collections are configured to send the collection to a case and the items are viewed in the case. Additionally, the issue can be seen when there are multiple versions of the affected item and the Modified date of some of the versions falls outside of the Selected date range.

The log excerpts, information and/or screenshot(s) below were taken from a non-production test lab environment and are used for example purposes only.

For example: Targeted date range is set to Oct 1 2023 - Oct 14 2023.

When the Collection is completed and is transferred to a specified case, it can be seen displaying the file name (OneDriveTest1.txt, for example) with a Modified date of July 11, 2022, which falls outside of the Selected date range.

Upon closer inspection of the file on OneDrive, it shows that multiple versions of the file exist.

There are versions of that file that have a Modified Date which falls within the Selected date range and, as such, should be collected. However, the file also has a version with a Modified Date that falls outside of the Selected date range, and that is what is displayed when viewing the case. This leaves the user thinking that a false positive has occurred for the targeted collection when in fact the file should have been collected.
