Cause

This can occur when the SMTP Server being used as part of the Target configuration in Merge1 is denying the relay of the messages. 

 

Resolution

When attempting to send the messages collected to a 3rd party target, two SMTP Server options are available

 

  • Direct SMTP Target: Direct SMTP Target will allow Merge1 to deliver the processed messages directly to the recipients' SMTP Server. 

 

  • SMTP Target (Relay): Merge1 will deliver the data to an SMTP server address that you provide which would then be responsible to relay the messages to the target address..
    • Note: The corresponding 3rd party target may have a suitable SMTP server to utilize in such instances
