Below error message can be seen in the NDR(s) that are received. 550 5.6.11 SMTPSEND.BareLinefeedsAreIllegal; message contains bare linefeeds, which cannot be sent via DATA and receiving system does not support BDAT
Cause
Such errors are received if the server accepting these messages does not support the SMTP BDAT command. If a Send Connector is not present, and Journal Reports meant for Veritas are passed through a email gateway which don't support the SMTP BDAT command, then such errors may be received.
Resolution
Arctera SMTP servers are configured to support SMTP BDAT command and hence can process messages with bare line feed characters. Review the Journaling configuration for Arctera Unified Platform and ensure that there's a Send Connector configured to directly send the Journal Reports to Arctera.
