Error Message

No error message is displayed. A new archive is created for the same mailbox.

Office 365 Sync checks for an archive in the database against the Username/PrimaryEmailAddress of the mailbox before creating it. It does not run this check against the aliases of the mailbox.

Example: 

An archive is created on the primary email address john.doe@evcloud.com with GUID 7865c414-916c-4873-9912-d1398fbb7943 along the below aliases being synchronized.

PrimaryEmailAddress/UPN :  john.doe@evcloud.com
Aliases : john@evcloud.com, john@evcloud.onmicrosoft.com
GUID : 7865c414-916c-4873-9912-d1398fbb7943

This archive will have all the aliases synchronized for the mailbox.

When this mailbox gets migrated/recreated, its GUID information will change. If at that time, a new email address john.doe1@evcloud.com is added to mailbox and made the primary email address/UPN, then Office Sync will create a new archive for it, ignoring the fact that there is an archive on the email address john.doe@evcloud.com.

This archive will not have the alias john.doe@evcloud.com synchronized on the new archive as that email address is already utilized by the original archive. 

If such changes have been made on the mailbox(s), supply the correct GUID(s) of the mailbox(es) to Veritas Support so that the next sync will update the existing archive.  This will prevent the creation of another archive for the same user mailbox.
