Description

The occasion can exist where the Folder Sync database needs to be moved from one SQL server to another.  The information below will assist in moving the Folder Sync database. 

1) Login to the Folder Sync server and stop the ArchiveTools Folder Sync service as the Folder Sync service account.

2) Setup the new SQL Server Instance and move the Archive Accelerator database to the new SQL instance.

3) In SQL Server Management Studio, create a login for the existing Folder Sync service account and give the SQL Server login the dbcreator server role.

4) Start the Archive Accelerator Configuration Wizard (C:\Program Files\ArchiveTools\ArchiveTools Folder Sync) and put the name of the new SQL instance that the Archive Accelerator database is located.

5) Click YES to use the existing database.

6) Click NEXT to configure Folder Sync to use the new SQL Instance Name.

7) The wizard will connect to the new SQL server and configure Folder Sync to use the Archive Accelerator database.

8) Select CLOSE to exit

9) The ArchiveTools Folder Sync service will start automatically after the wizard completes.
