Description

Error

Email address appears invalid.  Make sure it does not contain spaces, an extra @, or any of the following characters:()[]\;":,<>

image.png

Cause

When Arctera automatically disables a user, the system alters the usernames and aliases to include a tag of the date, time, and the fact that they’ve been disabled.  However this tag includes a system-invalid character ( “ : “ ) which keeps the user from being edited from the UI.

This occurs as a result of a previous user disablement, either by mass user disablement, or via automatic user synchronization.

To identify this issue:

  1. Navigate to your management portal, and log in as an administrative user.
  2. Select account management from the left pane, navigate to the effected user, and edit.
  3. In the archive aliases section, you may see aliases with the format of username-disabled_on_date_andtime@yourdomain.com.

Note: This alias may not exactly match that format, but should be very similar.

Resolution

Perform the following steps to correct the issue:

  1. Utilize the small “x” icon next to each Alias matching the aforementioned format.
  2. Once it has been deleted, save the changes
  3. Alter other fields as needed, and save the changes.

If your issues persist beyond removal of the aliases in question, contact Arctera Technical Support for assistance.
