The Lync Connector synchronization fails with the following SQL login error, or another SQL permission error:
Failed to export data from the Lync archiving database. Login failed for user domain\user
where domain\user refers to the Arctera Unified Platform Lync Connector service account.
This issue may be resolved by assigning the ServerRole database role in LcsLog -- the Lync archiving database -- to the Lync Connector service account, or to a group to which the service account belongs, such as RTCUniversalServerAdmins.
Alternatively you can add the Lync Connector service account to an Active Directory group that has been assigned the ServerRole role in the LcsLog database, for example RTCComponentUniversalServices. Be aware however, that membership of such a group may confer many more permissions than are required to perform the Lync data extraction. You must restart the Arctera Unified Platform Lync Connector service for this change to take effect.
